This perennial grows within disturbed areas in rocky soil. Having very attractive bi-colored leaves (sharp color contrast) with perimeter spines, it should be noted all parts of this plant are poisonous. The paper thin petals are light yellow to yellow in color and the flower is about 2 inches wide. The foliage will release yellow sap if broken.
