A peaceful, easy trail around the Wood Canyon Lake.
Features and Interests:   Rare Bald Eagle nesting ground with parts of the lake closed to access.

This easy going loop around the lake is quite flat, but perfect to enjoy the peacefulness and quiet of this lake! With the wind blowing through the pines and the water lapping against the shore, this hike is very relaxing.

Elevation:  7520ft - 7600ft   (change 80ft)
Trail Difficutly:  Easy - stroll through the park
How Crowded:  Occassional passing

Accomodations: (on site)   Toilets  Water  Ranger Station  CampingFrom Payson, head east on Arizona 260 until you ascend the Rim. Near milepost 282, turn left at FR 300 toward Woods Canyon Lake. After about 3.2 miles, make a right to the Woods Canyon Lake recreational area road FR 105. When you come to the fork with Marina parking and shop on right and Aspen Campground on left, the trailhead starts just beyond the fee booth on left (you can park near shop/marina to avoid the fee).Paved road or trail to the trailhead
