SummerThis species is one of the most abundant Russula species found in the southwestern ponderosa pine forest. The caps are 6-12cm broad, becoming depressed and wavy as they age. Colors are orange-red to dark-red and the stalk is white.
It has peppery or acrid taste and is not considered edible. |
