SummerThis perennial plant is found in all Arizona counties. Its habitats range from grasslands, rocky-habitats, disturbed sites, to pine/mixed conifer forests with sandy to gravelly soils, from 4000-9500ft. Linearis is one of 2 variaties, previously treated as 2 different species, which occur in our area. The Navajo make a tea from the roots for stomach disorders, and use it to treat burns, coughs, and urination problems. The seeds and berries are also eaten. |
